As part of the evaluation of a rash, sometimes it is necessary to obtain a small piece of the affected skin which can be looked at under a microscope to help reach a diagnosis.

After an appropriate site is identified, the skin will be anesthetized

How Long Will The Test Take?

The skin biopsy often takes 5 to 15 minutes to complete.
